Gasification of Russian regions
SGM Group is actively engaged in implementation of national Russian Regions Gasification Program generated by PAO Gazprom.
SGM Group has vast experience in construction of gas distribution networks in various Russian regions with heavy climatic and geological conditions, including earthquake-prone areas. The geography of construction activities of SGM Group within the gasification program covers almost the entire territory of the RF, including constituent entities of the Russian Federation located in the Central, Southern, Northwestern, Far Eastern, Siberian, Ural, Volga and North Caucasian Federal Districts.
SGM Group has constructed more than 17.5 thousand kilometers of inter-settlement gas pipelines transporting the gas to individual consumers as well as to top priority industrial facilities, which define economic and social regional development. At the moment SGM Group is carried out the construction of 100 inter-settlement gas pipelines 1.5 thousand kilometers long. A large scope of works is performed in the Tambov, Ulyanovsk, Rostov, Saratov, Omsk, Novosibirsk and Kursk Region.
SGM Group is directly involved in construction of gas laterals and gas distribution stations networks.
As a result, in 2016 the construction of 10 gas laterals and gas distribution networks has been completed in the Volgograd, Novosibirsk and Sakhalin Region, the Kamchatka and Khabarovsk Territory. The construction of gas lateral and gas distribution network in the Republic of Karelia is scheduled to be completed in 2017; the total length of construction is 160 km.
Different up-to-date methods and techniques were used in construction. Thus, while constructing gas pipeline to the Russky Island SGM Group has built the unique 3-km long crossing (there are no such other crossings in the world) over the Eastern Bosphorus, the Primorye Territory, by horizontal directional drilling (HDD). First Sakhalin gas was supplied through its main string to the Island concurrently with the commissioning of Sakhalin — Khabarovsk — Vladivostok trunk gas pipeline, September 2011, to provide the facilities of 24th APEC meeting with gas. Construction of the second (backup) string has been completed in May 2012 thus providing an uninterrupted supply of gas to the consumers.
Thus, the regions are provided with more cost-efficient and eco-friendly fuel. Natural gas, delivered via gas pipelines of SGM, results in improvement of welfare, establishment of new enterprises, as well as small- and medium-sized business development. Not just one individual will benefit from this, but the whole ecology due to the reduction of air pollution.
