The Power of Siberia gaz pipeline

The Power of Siberia gaz pipeline

The Power of Siberia natural gas pipeline, commissioned by Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, has become one of STROYGAZMONTAZH’s biggest contracts. The official launch ceremony marked the opening of the Power of Siberia at the Atamanskaya (Zeyskaya) compressor station on December 2, 2019.

Customer: Gazprom transgaz Tomsk, LLC
  • SGM Group’s pipeline section: 1,131 km
  • Pipe diameter: 1,420 mm
  • Pressure: 9.8 MPa
  • Design capacity: 38.5 billion cubic meters

The total length of the gas pipeline is about 3000 km. SGM Group constructed a 1131 km section that extends from the Neryungri District, Republic of Sakha, Yakutia, to the Chinese border.

A large portion of the pipeline was laid in sparsely populated and hard-to-reach areas without road access. As a result, the project required parallel building of infrastructure and temporary bridges to cross Siberian rivers. Work was carried out on mountainous terrain with rocky inclines of up to 33-34°.

In addition to the section of the pipeline itself, SGM Group built the Atamanskaya (Zeyskaya) compressor station, a gas metering station and Local Gas Pipeline Management Administration No. 5.

Completing the Power of Siberia project involved active implementation of import substitution programs leveraging Russian-manufactured power plants, electronic equipment, radio communication devices, telemechanics products and other high-tech equipment and components.
