The Power of Siberia gas trunk line completed
On December 2, at the Atamanskaya (Zeyskaya) compressor station, an official ceremony was held to launch gas through the Power of Siberia gas trunk line. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Alexey Miller took part in the event in a teleconference mode.
The Power of Siberia gas trunk line, commissioned by Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, has become one of the largest contracts of STROYGAZMONTAZH. Subsidiaries of SGM (Lengazspetsstroy, SCC Gazregion and Krasnodargazstroy) were involved in its construction. At the peak of work at the Power of Siberia trunk pipeline, over 4,500 people and about 2,000 pieces of equipment were used on site.
The total length of the Power of Siberia pipeline will be about 3,000 km, of which 1,131 km (from Neryungri to the China border) were built by the SGM Group. The route passes through hard-to-reach areas with mountainous terrain and permafrost ridges, crosses rivers and swamps.
In addition to the linear part of the main gas pipeline, the SGM Group also built the Atamanskaya (Zeyskaya) compressor station, a gas metering station, and a line operation section No. 5.
